WHEN WAS THE LAST DATE YOU WERE ON?
A Date with your spouse...
Regular dating keeps the relationship growing strong, it helps to maintain a friendship and build a long-term marriage. Dating each other will keep the both of you emotionally connected.
Sit down together and talk about what your favorites dates with each other have been. What did you enjoy about those dates? Were there dates you shared together enjoyable for the both of you or if not why was it more enjoyable for one and not the other. It should be a pleasant conversation that stirs up fun memories.
Find those moments when you both laughed or learned something new. What are the next dates planned around. It is possible to find ways that do not cost a lot of money nor requires a lot of planning. Vacations and traveling are always something both of you can plan for and save up for. However, for those of you who have children the cost of getting away can be challenging. Weekends can be hard to find if the children are involved in weekend sports and activities.
The idea is to have weekly date night, and sometimes it can be as simple as getting the kids to bed, turning off the cell phone and talking, watching a movie you both choose, or playing a game that maybe you played long before the children came into the picture. If the children are old enough, you can both take a walk around the block, walk the dog together.
There are numerous ways in which couple time can be carved out for a few hours every week. The idea is to make this a priority, remember you are your children’s role model, from you they will learn what a healthy relationship looks like.
